# Candidate Documents API — States

The `code` field in the status object is an internal UUID. The `descriptionCode` field optionally qualifies the status with a human-readable code.

## States

## Description Codes

| `CD0004` | `DiscardedByRecruiter` | Manually discarded by a recruiter |
| `CD0005` | `DiscardedDueToInactivity` | Candidate was inactive for too long |
| `CD0006` | `AlternativeContactSent` | An alternative contact method was used (informational, non-terminal) |
| `CD0007` | `DiscardedDueToCandidateWithdrawal` | Candidate withdrew from the process |
